FOTD Glam Look

Hello my loves! I decided to do a more glamorous, heavy look because the mood struck me haha. I busted out my Naked 3 Palette, which I haven’t reached for in awhile. I also through on some false lashes, which are a little more on the natural side. I kind of did ok putting them on this time, but the ends didn’t look so great and I forgot to smoosh them together with my natural lashes. Whoops. So please excuse my messy false lash application 🙂

30 Days of Lipsticks Week 2

Hi everyone! It’s time for week 2 of my 30 Days of Lipsticks Challenge! If you don’t know what this challenge is about, see my original about it here. Essentially, I’m wearing a different lipstick every day for the month of April in an effort to use up lipsticks that I haven’t reached for in awhile or haven’t tried at all. This week I made an effort to try some sample sizes of high end lip products from a set that I got at Sephora during the holidays.

Lipsticks and My Thoughts

Day 8 Wet N Wild “Cherry Picking” A berry pink color with a matte finish. Very pigmented-it drags a little bit but I still think this line of lipsticks is great. The color is long-lasting and is pretty comfortable to wear, so long as you wear some kind of lip balm underneath.

Day 9 NYX Butter Lipstick “Pops” A natural mauve color with a creamy finish. Very moisturizing and comfortable to wear, and also a very flattering color.

Day 10 Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick “Maple Kiss” A warm brownish shade with a cream finish. I got this one in a Walmart Beauty Box and had never worn it. It’s a nice, fairly neutral color with a brown tone. Definitely reminded me of the 90s! I think this shade will be better for Fall and Winter.

Day 11 Too Faced La Creme Lipstick “Naked Dolly” A creamy peachy nude lipstick. It takes a few swipes to get an opaque, even coverage as this is a bit on the sheer side. It’s not the most forgiving on chapped lips either, so now I know I need to exfoliate before using this. It’s a great nudey color though. This is a sample size that I’ve never worn before.

Day 12 Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain “India Intrigue” A bright, berry shade with a glossy finish. Compared to Wet N Wild Cherry Picking, it is slightly darker and more purple. This is actually pretty opaque and the application is made super easy because of the triangle shaped doe foot applicator. I bought a couple of these when they first came out and wasn’t too impressed and never reached for them, but using it again I actually quite like it. I’m typically not a fan of glosses in general, but this one is quite opaque for a gloss and it does leave behind a slight stain. I think part of why I didn’t like them too much when I first got them is because I thought the stain would be more intense,

Day 13 Stila Stay All Day Vinyl Lip Gloss “Nude” Another sample size that I’ve never used before. It is a pinky nude color gloss. It’s quite thick and sticky but very opaque and comfortable to wear. It actually wore for a surprisingly long time, and when the glossiness wore off the color was still on my lips. I was not expecting that at all! It’s funny that it’s called Nude because it’s actually quite pink on my lips.

Day 14 Benefit “Posie Balm” Yet another sample size of something I’ve never worn before. Can you see how much product is in there? When I first opened it I laughed at how little was in there-c’mon Benefit! This is a very sheer light pink balm. It really look some building up to get the color to show on my arm swatch, and it really did not change the color of my lips. It’s quite moisturizing though. Overall though, I don’t see the point in this haha. I think drugstore tinted lip balms are way better in terms of color pay off, and of course price.

Swatches

L to R Days 8-14 : Wet N Wild “Cherry Picking”, NYX “Pops”, Maybelline “Maple Kiss”, Too Faced “Naked Dolly”, Revlon “India Intrigue”, Stila “Nude”, Benefit “Posie Balm”

So that’s it, my second week of lip colors! I’m halfway done with the challenge 🙂 What colors stood out to you this week, and have you tried any of these already? What are your thoughts?

Weekend FOTD ft. Wet N Wild Comfort Zone palette

Hi guys! It’s been awhile since I last did a FOTD, so here’s a look from this weekend. Since it was St Patricks day weekend, I thought I should incorporate some green into my eyeshadow look. I used the Wet N Wild Comfort Zone palette (such a great palette!).

Makeup Details

Foundation: Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless (Shade 120)

Setting powder: Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder (Shade 120)

Concealer: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind (Light) & Wet N Wild Fergie Celebrity Concealer (Fair)

Bronzer: Tarte Park Avenue Princess & Benefit Hoola (contour)

Blush: Benefit Coralista

Highlight: The Balm Mary Lou-manizer

Eyebrows: Anastasia dip brown (medium brown)

Eyeshadow: Makeup Geek Creme Brûlée as a transition shade and Makeup Geek Cocoa Bear in the crease, Wet N Wild comfort zone palette, Tartelette palette Free Spirit (cream shade) to highlight browbone, Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeshadow pencil in Blacklight to darken the outer edge

Mascara: Physicians Formula Instant Lash Extension Kit mascara (mascara only, no fibers)

Eyeliner: NYC liquid liner on upper lash line, Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner in black on waterline

Lips: MAC Kinda Sexy (peachy brown) topped with MAC Ravishing (peach/coral)

Eye tutorial: I applied some tape alongside my eye to get a straight/clean edge for my eyeshadows. I used Makeup Geek Creme Brûlée dusted all throughout the crease and slightly above as a transition shade. I then deepened the crease with Makeup Geek Cocoa Bear. I took the green lid shade from the Comfort Zone palette and put it all over the lid. I used the black Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeshadow stick to deepen the outer corner and topped it with the definer shade (beautiful brown/green duo chrome). I used the same definer shade and smudged it on my lower lash line. I used the shimmery cream highlight shade from the palette and applied it in on my inner corners.

I love using this palette! Such a steal at $4.99.

Thanks for reading! I hope you all had a great weekend and a great Monday 🙂
