Hi everyone! I finally got my Jaclyn Hills Favorites palette in the mail last week, and I’ve been loving it so far! Although the palette is no longer being sold, if you are interested in any of the shadows they can be bought individually. Anywho, I was excited to use some of the purple/pink shades in the palette and this is a look I did recently. Since the eyes were pretty vibrant, I went with a light pink lip color.

Lips: MAC Angel

Eyeshadow: Jaclyn Hill Favorites palette and Super Mom from Tartelette palette to highlight brownbone

Eyeliner: Jordana Cat Eye Liner

Mascara: Maybelline Lash Sensational

Eyebrows: Anastasia Dipbrow (Medium Brown)

Eyeshadow Tutorial: I buffed shade #1 all throughout the crease and then layered shade #2 on top of it, but didn’t bring it up very high. I then patted shade #3 all over the lid, and deepened the outer corners with shades #4 and #5. I used shade #6 on the inner corners, and smudged shade #3 on my lower lash line. I highlighted my browbones with a matte cream shade (Supermom from Tartelette palette).

I also through on some false lashes, which are a little more on the natural side. I kind of did ok putting them on this time, but the ends didn’t look so great and I forgot to smoosh them together with my natural lashes. Whoops. So please excuse my messy false lash application 🙂

I took the green lid shade from the Comfort Zone palette and put it all over the lid. I used the black Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeshadow stick to deepen the outer corner and topped it with the definer shade (beautiful brown/green duo chrome). I used the same definer shade and smudged it on my lower lash line. I used the shimmery cream highlight shade from the palette and applied it in on my inner corners.

FOTD Ft. ELF Long-Lasting Lustrous Eyehadow ‘Soiree’

Swatches- Top: Milani eyeliner Middle: ELF Soiree eyeshadow Bottom: Jordana Matte Dare

Hi guys, I’m back for a FOTD. For some reason I really love these kinds of posts 🙂 I’m especially inspired to do these when I’m trying products that are new to me or I particularly like the way a makeup look turned out. It’s just fun to play with makeup!I picked up a couple of the ELF Long lasting lustrous eyeshadows at Target, as well as the Baked Blush in the shade Pinktastic. I’ve had the shadow for awhile now but I hadn’t used it because I wasn’t entirely sure how to…it has a very fluffy moussey texture, and it’s very sparkly. It doesn’t really have enough pigment on it’s own but it works well as an eyeshadow topper. So that’s how I used it! I used Mauve from the Lorac Pro palette all over my lid and then Taupe in my crease. I then used the ELF shadow in Soiree and patted it on top of my lid with my finger. It has a lovely sparkly effect. I then lined my upper lash line with a brown eyeliner by Milani. On my lips I dabbed Jordana Matte Dare to give the look of a berry stain.

Products Used

Face: Boots No7 Matte Makeup Base and Smashbox Photofinish primer (mixed), Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous and Garnier BB cream for oily skin (mixed), Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer (Light), Maybelline Dream Wonder powder (Classic Ivory), Rimmel Natural Bronzer, Benefit Rockateur blush, ELF Pinktastic blush (highlight), Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer palette

Eyes: Anastasia Dipbrow (Medium Brown), Covergirl Olay concealer (eyeshadow base), Lorac Pro Palette Mauve on lid and Taupe in crease, ELF Long-lasting lustrous eyeshadow (Soiree) on lid, Milani Liquif’eye eyeliner, Maybelline Falsies mascara,

Lips: Jordana matte lipstick Matte Dare

Hope you enjoyed this look, thanks for reading!

Weekend makeup featuring an (attempted) double wing eyeliner

Check out those (baby) double wings!

Hello my dears! Sadly, the weekend is coming to an end and soon we will have to face the week yet again. It was a lazy weekend for me, but I did go out with the boyfriend a bit Friday evening and decided to try something different makeup-wise. I was inspired to do a double wing eyeliner look by katienield from dailymakeupbeautyblog in her Eyeliner Series #2 post. She provided a great tutorial for how to do a double wing eyeliner so I decided to try it out. My result was not nearly as nice as hers but I guess I couldn’t expect it to be perfect on the first attempt (I still struggle with regular winged eyeliner sometimes!). Still, it was fun to try something different and maybe one day I can get it to look semi-decent (with practice).

Complete look

Thanks for reading! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend! Like I said, mine was lazy. I started a new series on Netflix called The Fall that follows a serial killer and the detective trying to catch him, set in Northern Ireland. It’s been pretty interesting so far-has anyone else seen it? I’ve started season 2.

FOTD 12/30/14 Maybelline for the win

Hello darlings! Here is a FOTD. No special occasion, I was just going to work-doesn’t mean I can’t have fun with makeup! I decided to use Milani Bella Copper because I’m in obsessed with how coppery and sparkly it is. I realized when I took a picture of the products I used that almost half of them were Maybelline. It wasn’t intentional but I guess I’m on a Maybelline kick lately haha.

Here is what I used-

Face: Boots No7 Beautifully Matte primer and Smashbox photofinish primer (I mix a little of each because the Boots primer is thick and flakes when I use it on its own >_<), Maybelline Dream Pure BB cream (light), NYX dark circle concealer (light), Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer (light), Maybelline Dream Wonder Powder (classic ivory), Tarte Park Avenue Princess contour kit (blush, bronzer, and highlight)

Eyebrows: Anastasia Brow pomade (medium brown)

Eyes: Makeup Geek Creme Brulee and Cocoa Bear mixed in the crease, Milani Bella Gold all over the lid, Lorac Pro2 Buff for a browbone highlight and Snow and Beige to highlight the inner corners, Maybelline Falsies mascara

Lips: Maybelline Matte Lipstick in Touch of Spice

The highlights for me were the copper eyes and mauvey brown lips, as well as the maybelline bb cream (new to me, review to come!)

What brand to you find yourself using a lot of?

Thanks for reading! =)

My apologies for the bad lighting! >.<

Revlon Colorburst matte balm Standout

Revlon matte balm Standout (left) Milani  Bella Copper (right) (flash)

Love love love the lippie and eyeshadow! Bella Copper is such a pretty sparkly copper-y color. I can’t say I own anything similar to it. It’s my first eyeshadow from this line, and I’m definitely impressed! It has good pigmentation, but I layered it to get its full intensity. It’s best applied with your finger to control fallout and get the most pigmentation. I haven’t tried it wet but I’m sure it would produce a nice foiled effect.

Standout is a very nice red, kind of a nice neutral/cooler toned red that would probably look great on any skin tone. It fellt very velvety on the lips when applied and wore well without feeling drying. The crayon applicator makes it really easy to apply. It did eventually fade in the middle after eating and left me with the dreaded ring around the lips (rather upset that my friends didn’t inform me about it haha!)  I own a few other shades of the Revlon matte balms and they are all quite nice – the shade Sultry is a favorite of mine.

After swatching Bella Copper it made me think of Trick from the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette but when swatched next to each other you can see they are quite different.

Bella Copper (left) and Trick (right)

Bella copper is more orange toned while Trick is more pinky-toned. Bella Copper reminds me of the color of a new penny, while Trick looks more like a rose gold color. Both are sparkly and have a little fallout when applied.

Overall, I was impressed by the Bella Eyes line by Milani. I really liked the copper shade, I think its quite unique and a steal at less than $5. None of the other colors really caught my eye at the time but maybe I will buy more down the line.

Hope you enjoyed! Do you have any of the Milani Bella Eyes eyeshadows? What shades are your favorites?
