June Birchbox

Hi my dears! A couple weeks ago there was a code for a $1 Birchbox, so I figured I’d go ahead and sign up! I’ve signed up for Birchbox once before but cancelled after the one box. I’ve tried to stay away from monthly beauty product subscriptions since I do a good job of buying my own beauty/makeup, and I know half the time I won’t even use the samples. But since it was such a good deal, I decided to sign up again to try Birchbox. Keep reading to find out what I got and whether I’ll continue the subscription!

Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow This can be used as alone or as a base apparently. It’s a bit dark when it comes out but it blends away into my skin fine. It’s not very pigmented as far as I can tell, and I can detect a little bit of fine shimmer when its blended in. I can definitely see this giving off a glow.

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo Such a cute little dry shampoo! I love using dry shampoo so I’ll definitely use this up. It smells pretty good and it’s got a powerful spray.Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner This is a lovely turquoise blue shade, perfect for summer! I’m intrigued by the waterproof claim.      Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask The directions on this say to apply to damp skin, wait 5 minutes until a froth forms, and then rinse off. I can’t say I’ve ever tried a face mask like this before so I’m definitely curious to see how it works.

COOLA SPF 50 Sport-Mango Now that it’s summer you can never have enough sunscreen! This moisturizer smells yummy too, so I’m looking forward to using it. I like that it has such a high SPF.

Emi Jay Hair Tie A cute little extra hair tie. We’ll see how well this works in my hair, it doesn’t feel like it will stretch enough to wrap around twice.

Marcelle BB Cresm Golden Glow (blended out)

Marcelle Eyeliner (Blue Lagoon)

Overall Thoughts

I feel like I’m pretty satisfied with the contents of the box-I think I’ll get use out of everything that was in there. However, I won’t be continuing the subscription, simply because I don’t want to accumulate more samples every month. Also, if I were to subscribe to any monthly subscription, it would most likely be Ipsy.

What beauty boxes are you subscribed to, and are you satisfied with them?

Thank you so much for reading! 🙂

Walmart Spring Beauty Box

 What It Is:

A quarterly subscription beauty box by Walmart, which is free but shipping is $5. This will be my third box since signing up when it first started in the Fall of 2014.

What I Got:

Rimmel Lash Accelerator mascara (Full Size)

Essence Ultime shampoo and conditioner samples + $2 coupon

Dove bodywash sample

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Boosters facial cleanser sample

Lady Gaga Fame black fluid perfume sample

Nivea in Shower body lotion sample packet + $1 coupon

Garnier Ultra Lift sleeping cream sample packet + $2 coupon

Nivea lotion $1 coupon

Maybelline Matte + Poreless sample sheet + $2 coupon

L’oreal & Covergirl-$2 coupons

My Thoughts:

Woohoo, a full-sized mascara! I’ve never tried the Rimmel Lash Accelerator mascara before, so it’ll be nice to try out. I’ll add it to my collection of unopened mascaras to try out >_< I’m trying to be good and just have one mascara open at a time (so hard!).

The shampoo and conditioner samples are by the brand Essence Ultime, which I have never heard about before. It’s quite a decent sized sample too, so that’s nice. I like these sample sizes for travel, but I don’t travel that often so I should try using them up at home. I regularly use Dove bodywash and really like it, and I’ve never tried this Mandarin scent before, and I’m sure that will be really good. The Neutrogena facial cleanser will be nice to try out, and the Lady Gaga perfume is actually a nice scent, and it comes out black when you spray it! The rest is little sheet packet samples with loads of coupons, which is definitely great.

Overall, the full-sized mascara exceeds the cost of the shipping, and there are a bunch of things in here I’ve never tried before. Plus, there are tons of coupons so I’m satisfied with this season’s box.

I’m actually quite curious if anybody got different items from mine in their box? I know Karen of Playing Dress Up got the exact same stuff as me, and in the past I’ve noticed there’s usually two variations of the boxes. Let me know if you got different stuff! 🙂

Walmart Winter Beauty Box

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/c94/81094031/files/2014/12/img_0814.jpgHi everyone, happy Sunday! Today I will share with you what I received in my Winter Walmart beauty box. The box itself was free but shipping was $5. This is a quarterly box, with a new box coming out each season-Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer. This is something Walmart introduced recently and the first box came out this past fall.

In my box I received the following: sample sizes of the L’oreal OleoTherapy shampoo and conditioner (2 oz each), Jergens BB Body perfecting skin cream (1 oz), Olay fresh effects makeup wipes (7 wipes), and a Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in the shade Maple Kiss. There is also a packet sample of the Nivea Cocoa Butter lotion and a cardboard sample of the Maybelline Dream Wonder powder. Both contain $1 off coupons.

Maybelline Maple Kiss

Maybelline Maple Kiss lipstick is a lovely color for the winter. It’s a warm brown color with a slight red undertone with a cream finish.

All the products in this box except for the Dream Wonder powder are new to me, so I’m definitely excited to try them out. The shampoo and conditioner as well as the makeup wipes are perfect for travel. The sizes of the L’oreal shampoo and conditioner are pretty generous so I’ll be able to get multiple uses out of them. Overall I’m really happy with everything I received in this box! I’m able to try out several new products for only $5. This is currently the only beauty box that I am subscribed to. I like that it’s a seasonal box because I buy enough beauty products on my own that I don’t have to worry much about accumulating products compared to receiving a box every month. It is probably one of the cheaper beauty box subscriptions out there, and for only spending $5 I won’t be too disappointed if one of them turns out to be a dud.

When the Fall box came out a couple months ago, I read on Nouveau Cheap’s blog that depending on your age group you would receive different products in your box. I actually saw Eleventh Gorgeous open their box in one of their recent Youtube videos and they got totally different products, so I was surprised when I received my box.

What did you receive in your Walmart Beauty box for the winter? Were you satisfied or disappointed?
